NYSC 2026 Batch C: Stream II Camp Starts 4 November (Stream I Ends 20 October) — Dates, What to Pack and Allowance

Batch C is the last mobilisation of the NYSC year. NYSC confirmed both streams through its Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu. If you are in Stream II, you have about three weeks to print your call-up letter, gather your documents and pack. This guide covers everything you need.

How to Check If You Are Mobilised for Batch C Stream II

1. Log in to your dashboard on the NYSC portal, portal.nysc.org.ng.
2. Look for your call-up number. Once it appears, your call-up letter follows.
3. Print the call-up letter, which shows your state of deployment and camp. Bring a printed copy — not just a screenshot.
4. If NYSC announces changes to a state’s camp date or venue, reprint your letter from the dashboard before travelling.

Not mobilised? The usual reasons are that your name is missing from your institution’s senate list, your details do not match your school’s records, or your registration was incomplete. NYSC has made NERD clearance mandatory for mobilisation, so make sure your institution has cleared you. Contact your school’s Student Affairs/NYSC desk first. NOUN graduates are not mobilised and should apply for an NYSC exclusion letter instead.

Documents to Take to Camp

• Printed call-up letter
• Statement of result or certificate
• School ID card
• NIN slip or national ID card
• Passport photographs — take at least six
• Foreign-trained graduates: international passport and the documents used for physical verification
• Photocopies of everything, kept in a separate bag from the originals

What to Pack for NYSC Camp

Clothing

• White T-shirts and white shorts for drills (at least five T-shirts)
• White canvas or tennis shoes
• Casual clothes for free time, plus one nice outfit for social and cultural nights
• A light jacket for cold early-morning parades (especially in the north in November)
• Slippers for the bathroom
• A rain poncho

Toiletries and health

• Bucket and small bowl
• Soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant and tissue for three weeks
• Insect repellent and a mosquito net
• Basic medicines (pain relief, plasters) and any prescription medication with its prescription
• Sanitary products

Practical items

• A power bank (20,000mAh or more) and an extension box
• A padlock for your locker or box
• A torch with spare batteries
• A bedsheet and small pillow
• A water bottle and some snacks for the first days
• Some cash for the camp market, kept securely

Travelling to Camp Safely

NYSC’s Director-General, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has urged prospective corps members to avoid night travel and to board vehicles only at designated motor parks. NYSC also advises breaking your journey once it is 6pm. Plan to arrive at camp on 4 November, as registration closes at midnight on 6 November.

A Typical Day at Camp

• Early morning: wake-up bugle, then morning parade and drills
• Morning: lectures and SAED (Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) sessions
• Afternoon: platoon activities, sports and cultural rehearsals
• Evening: evening parade, dinner and social activities
• Night: lights out

Exact times vary by camp and are announced on arrival.

NYSC Allowance 2026

The federal monthly allowance for corps members is ₦77,000, up from ₦33,000. It is paid into the bank account you registered with NYSC, so make sure the account is in your name and active. Some state governments and many private places of primary assignment (PPAs) pay extra; amounts vary widely, so ask at your state secretariat or PPA.

Posting and Redeployment

• You cannot choose your state; NYSC deploys corps members through its automated system.
• Married women can request deployment to their husband’s state, with a marriage certificate and supporting documents.
• Redeployment on medical, marital or security grounds is applied for through the NYSC state secretariat with evidence. It is not guaranteed.
• NYSC regularly warns about fake redeployment notices and agents who charge money. Use only official channels.

Missed Batch C?

If your institution’s senate list was not ready in time, you will roll into the next mobilisation, 2027 Batch A, which usually holds early in the year. Keep your portal details up to date and follow NYSC’s official channels for the 2027 timetable.
