📌 Quick answer: Premier League matchweek 8 has 10 matches from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026. It opens with Ipswich v Nottingham Forest at 8pm on Friday. Saturday has Aston Villa v Man City at 12:30pm, Arsenal v Everton and Coventry v Fulham at 3pm, and Chelsea v Spurs at 5:30pm. On Sunday, four games start at 3pm, including Liverpool v Brighton, and Sunderland v Leeds closes the round at 5:30pm. All times are Nigerian time (WAT). UK clocks go back early on Sunday, so Sunday’s 2pm UK kick-offs are 3pm in Nigeria.
This is the weekend Nigerian fans need to watch the clock as well as the football. For the whole season so far, Premier League kick-off times in Nigeria have been the same as in the UK. That changes on Sunday 25 October, when British clocks go back an hour and Nigeria’s do not. Below are all 10 fixtures with the correct local times, the last league result for every team, the Nigerians involved and where to watch.
Premier League Matchweek 8 Fixtures in Nigerian Time

| Sat 24 Oct | Coventry City v Fulham | 15:00 BST | 3:00pm |
| Sat 24 Oct | Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur | 17:30 BST | 5:30pm |
| Sun 25 Oct | Crystal Palace v Newcastle United | 14:00 GMT | 3:00pm |
| Sun 25 Oct | Hull City v Brentford | 14:00 GMT | 3:00pm |

Why Sunday’s Times Are Different
Nigeria uses West Africa Time (WAT), one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), all year. The UK uses British Summer Time (BST) from late March to late October. BST is also one hour ahead of GMT, so during the British summer, a 3pm kick-off in London is 3pm in Lagos.
British clocks go back at 2am on Sunday 25 October 2026, returning the UK to GMT. The Premier League’s own schedule marks this: its times are BST up to and including Saturday 24 October and GMT from Sunday 25 October. From that Sunday, add one hour to any UK kick-off time to get the Nigerian time. A standard Saturday 3pm UK game becomes 4pm in Nigeria, 5:30pm becomes 6:30pm and 8pm becomes 9pm. That will stay the case until British clocks go forward again on Sunday 28 March 2027.
Matchweek 9 is the first full weekend affected. Chelsea v Manchester United, the 12:30 UK kick-off on Saturday 31 October, will start at 1:30pm in Nigeria.
Why Four Games Were Moved to Sunday
The Premier League moved Crystal Palace v Newcastle, Liverpool v Brighton and Manchester United v Bournemouth to Sunday because Palace, Brighton and Bournemouth play in UEFA competitions on Thursday 22 October. Liverpool v Brighton was originally a Saturday 3pm game. The Sunday slots were picked for live UK television, which is also why Aston Villa v Man City and Chelsea v Spurs are not at 3pm.

Three Matches to Watch
Aston Villa v Manchester City – Saturday, 12:30pm
An early start for Nigerian viewers, and two sides who both won last weekend. Villa come in after a 1-0 win at St James’ Park, City after a five-goal game against Ipswich. Villa are also in the Champions League this season; their next European game is on 3 November, which is why their following league match, against Fulham, was moved to Saturday evening.
Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur – Saturday, 5:30pm
The London derby is Saturday’s evening game. Chelsea arrive after a 2-0 win at Everton. Spurs have the shorter turnaround: they play Coventry on the Monday night, five days before.
Liverpool v Brighton – Sunday, 3pm
Brighton scored five against Crystal Palace last weekend, and Liverpool won away at Brentford. Brighton also play in Europe on the Thursday before, which is why the Premier League moved this game from Saturday to Sunday. It is one of the first games Nigerian fans will watch at the new time.
