This NaijaSabi guide covers all active MTN data plan categories with prices, USSD codes and how to choose the right plan for your usage.

MTN is Nigeria’s largest mobile network by subscribers and consistently offers the widest data coverage across the country — including in many areas where Airtel, Glo and 9mobile signals are weak. In 2026, MTN has updated its data plan pricing following changes to Nigeria’s telecom tariff framework and the continuing impact of naira depreciation on network operating costs. This NaijaSabi guide gives you every active MTN data plan with its current price, USSD code and validity — so you can subscribe quickly and get value for your data naira.

⚠️ Important note: MTN data prices in Nigeria change periodically. The prices below reflect confirmed rates as of mid-2026 from multiple verified sources. How to Subscribe to MTN Data Plans — All Methods

MTN Daily Data Plans 2026

Daily plans are best for one-off heavy usage — a day of streaming, a video call, a work deadline — or for testing a task before committing to a weekly or monthly plan.

MTN 2-Day Data Plans 2026

MTN Weekly Data Plans 2026

Weekly plans suit students and workers who need consistent data for 7 days — enough for daily WhatsApp, social media and moderate browsing without overpaying for a full 30-day plan.

MTN Monthly Data Plans 2026 — The Most Popular Category

Monthly (30-day) plans offer the best data-per-naira value for regular users. The 7GB at ₦3,500, 10GB at ₦4,500 and 16.5GB at ₦6,500 plans are the most popular among Nigerian users in 2026 for general mobile internet use.

The “All Night” bonus explained: Plans marked “+2GB All Night” include 2GB of bonus data usable only between midnight and 5 AM. This is ideal for Nigerians who download large files, stream heavy content or run software updates overnight when the daytime data quota must be conserved for work and communication.

MTN Unlimited Data Plans 2026

MTN’s unlimited plans have Fair Usage Policy (FUP) caps — your speed is throttled once you hit the daily cap, but the connection does not cut off. These are for heavy users, remote workers and content creators who need consistent high-volume data.

For home internet, MTN FiberX (fixed broadband) offers genuinely unlimited plans at more competitive prices — check shop.mtn.ng for FiberX availability and pricing in your area.

MTN SME Data Plans — How to Get More Data for Less

MTN SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) data is one of the best-kept value secrets for Nigerian data users. SME data bundles are purchased from VTU (Virtual Top-Up) resellers — apps and websites that buy MTN data in bulk and resell at slightly lower prices than direct MTN subscription. The difference can be significant: what MTN sells directly for ₦4,500 (10GB), a VTU reseller may sell for ₦3,200–₦3,800.

Popular SME data sizes in 2026: 1GB, 2GB, 5GB, 10GB — the most commonly available. 5GB SME data typically costs ₦1,800–₦2,200 from reputable VTU vendors compared to ₦2,500–₦2,700 direct from MTN.

Where to buy SME data:

• VTU apps and websites: VTpass (vtpass.com), Recharge and Get Paid (RAGP), Datasub.com, Smeplug.com — all established Nigerian VTU platforms with track records
• Your bank’s USSD menu: GTBank, Access Bank and some other banks integrate VTU data resale into their USSD menus — check your bank’s *737# or *901# menus
• Informal resellers: Many individuals resell SME data on WhatsApp — higher risk; use only resellers you can verify or who have been referred by trusted contacts

Important: SME data works on the same MTN network as direct data — same coverage, same speed. The only difference is the purchase source and price.

MTN Mega Deal Zone — Hidden Promos in the MyMTN App

The MyMTN app (available on Android and iOS) includes a section called Mega Deal Zone that offers personalised promotional data bundles not available through USSD. These are offered based on your usage history and loyalty to the network. Common Mega Deal Zone offers in 2026 include double-data promotions — for example, getting 50GB for ₦6,000 (which is effectively the standard 25GB for ₦3,000 plan doubled). These promos are user-specific — the same offer may not be available to all MTN lines. Check the Mega Deal Zone section in your MyMTN app regularly, especially before your monthly plan expires.

MTN Night Plans 2026

MTN night plans are data bundles usable only between midnight and 5 AM — cheapest per gigabyte of any MTN offering, ideal for downloading content, updating apps and transferring large files overnight.

• Check current night plan availability by dialling *312# and navigating to the night plan section
• The specific night plan sizes and prices change frequently — the MyMTN app shows your currently available night plans
• The 2GB All Night bonus included with several monthly plans (listed above) counts as a night plan bonus on top of your standard monthly allocation

How to Check Your MTN Data Balance

• Or dial *131*4# — alternative balance check code
• In the MyMTN app — your balance and plan details are displayed on the home screen after logging in
