How the Price Index works
- Each price is a check: one item, one place, one date, one named source, such as an NBS release, a state price tracker or a NaijaSabi market visit.
- Checks are never overwritten. A new check is added beside the old ones, which is how the charts and the "since" changes work.
- When a price has not been checked for a while, the page says so, so you always know how current a figure is.
