Zion Ladejo (Razaaq Adoti), a dishonourably discharged Nigerian Special Ops soldier, returns to Lagos from the US after his sister’s death. What he finds pulls him into a violent reckoning with the criminal network responsible. Son of the Soil is committed to spectacle and delivers it.

Kayode Kasum shoots Lagos as a living, dangerous organism. There is a memorable sequence where Zion escapes from an ICU in a backless hospital gown and fights through the building that is genuinely hilarious and kinetic at the same time. The screenplay is thin in places but the action sequences are the best of their kind in 2026 Nollywood.

Verdict: Kinetic, fun, and proof that Nollywood can do action properly. Razaaq Adoti deserves a franchise.
