A Nollywood Robin Hood, but make her a woman, make her unstoppable, and give her a sword and a cause she hasn’t quite thought through to its logical conclusion. Igbinogun is exactly as spectacular as that description promises.

Damilare Kuku plays Igbinogun, trained by her father (Enyinna Nwigwe) to rob the rich and give to the poor. When she defeats the entire palace guard and inadvertently causes political chaos, she must become the leader she never intended to be. The fighting choreography is the best in any 2026 Nigerian film.

Verdict: The most fun Nollywood period film in years. Damilare Kuku is a genuine action star.
